Alteration of smectites in alkaline conditions

Objective

The research objectives of the proposal are to develop a new technique permitting lowering irradiation dose for patient. This technique is called phase contrast radiography and is based on absorption and phase shift of X-rays. The University of Ancona did design and build special mechanical equipment and detecting system in order to be able to carry out phase contrast imaging experiments at Ancona.

The goals of the research projects are to participate to the set-up of the above experimental components, to carry out an experimental program aiming to explore the possibility of the new technique in several clinical and industrials applications, and finally to participate to the development of a new technique, the x-ray phase contrast micro tomography, which should extend to the classical micro tomography techniques based on absorption contrast all the advantages of the phase contrast technique. With this subject, I will have possibility to extend my knowledge by using and developing a new technique.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
