Objective
An important step forward to an effective, coherent and timely response to any future accident would be the networking of uniform decision support systems installed in East and West European emergency centres. With the availability of the RODOS system and its ongoing installation in a number of countries for operational use, the basis of such a perspective is currently being created. In order to support the wider acceptance and dissemination of the RODOS system, it is absolutely vital to enhance its practical applicability not only in case of a real accident but also for training and exercises. There fore, the network proposal aim sat establishing an effective and accepted framework for better communication and understanding between the R&D community and the users of decision support systems for obtaining well informed and consistent judgements with respect to improvements of the systems and their integrated use in Europe.
