Ames thematic network on ageing

Objective

The AMES Thematic Network on ageing, ATHENA, aims, within the "enlarged" Europe, at reaching a consensus on important issues, identified by the AMES European Network Steering Committee, that have an impact on the life management of nuclear power plants. ATHENA creates a structure enhancing the collaboration between European-funded R&D projects, national programs, and TACIS/PHARE programs. This will greatly increase the return from the individual projects and maximise the European added value. The work of ATHENA will establish the basis for EU guidelines and will contribute to the operational safety of nuclear power plants.
