Objective
The project covers two research fields: (1) application of the methods of quantum field theory to the study of the perturbative series of KAM theory, in particular to (1.1) the analysis of the universality for the breakdown of the invariant tori (an interesting open problem, on which one has only partial and numerical results, and one lacks a rigorous theory), and to (1.2) the study of heteroclinic angles for whiskered tori, related to the phenomenon of Arnol'd diffusion in phase space; (2) analytic discussion of the thermodynamic properties of Axiom A flows, in view of a numerical test of Ruelle's principle (stating that for some many particle systems, as far as only macroscopical properties are involved, the theory of hyperbolic systems can be applied).
