Extension in collisional orogenic belts the late cretaceous of Alps and Carpathians

Objective

The proposed project plans to carry out a collaborative study on lithospheric-scale structures on extension within a contractional orogenic setting as represented by the Late Cretaceous of internal Eastern Alps and Carpathians. The main goals are the investigations of (1) field structural relationships of exhumation of metamorphic domes and sedimentary basins adjacent to it over the entire Alpine- Carpathians area; (2) to model numerically subsidence within the Late Cretaceous sedimentary basins; (3) to proof possible diachron- eity of Late Cretaceous tectonic processes within that area; (4) to carry out analogue modelling; and (5) to carry out lithospheric-scale numerical modelling of Late Cretaceous tectonic processes in Alps and Carpathians.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
