Questions relating to rectifiability and singular integrals, and packing measures

Objective

A major objective of the proposed research is to extend the applicant's fields of expertise, by allowing her the opportunity to collaborate with one of the most active senior mathematicians working in her area. It is proposed to consider some of the open questions in the areas of Rectifiability and Singular Integrals, and Packing measures. The applicant's work to date has centred on the latter topic, in particular on the question of subsets of positive finite packing measure. The proposed work would thus continue this earlier work in a logical and satisfying fashion, and also extend into related areas which are currently very active.
Some of the specific questions we would wish to consider are: 1. The characterization of removable sets of positive length for bounded analytic functions.
2. The curvature characterization of rectifiability and pure unrectifiability.
3. Results concerning the packing dimension of intersections of sets in n-dimensional Euclidean space.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
