Objective
This project concerns the C-H bond activation reactions of hydrocarbons mediated by transition metal complexes. This area has attracted much attention during the last two decades due to the importance of such transformations in many catalytic and stoichiometric processes. The overall aim of the project is to acquire detailed knowledge about the mechanism of C-H bond activation reactions mediated by Tp*Ir(C2H4)2 complex. Important targets are (i) determination of the nature of the intermediates present in those transfommations (use of time-resolved spectroscopy will be needed) (ii) establishments of pathways of reactions (iii) control of the reactivity. Similar attempts will be made to induce analogous transformations using Rh complexes and to carry them out under catalytic conditions. This constitutes a very important objective of the present work. The University of Huelva will provide necessary equipment for completing the work. The programme has also links with groups in Europe via a scientific network.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
