Surface viscoelasticity of mixed polymer-surfactant layers. Connections to foam and emulsion behaviour

Objective

Surface Viscoelasticity is of major importance in foams and emulsion properties. The present project is to study the viscoelastic behaviour of various surfactant-polymer systems both at air-solution and oil- solution interfaces to model both foam and emulsion interfaces. For this purpose, various surface waves techniques will be used, already available in the host laboratory. An important previous work on surfactant solutions has already performed in the host laboratory, where there is a considerable experience with the techniques and the basic problem of connections with foam and emulsion behaviour. The applicant has already a background in surface waves techniques and in polymer and surfactant systems.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
