Objective
The study of Organisational aspects in Distributed Artificial Intelligence and in Multi-Agent Systems, leads to more profound and theoretically founded insights on the use and the implications of the organizational knowledge on the emergent functionality of a society of autonomous agents in a multi-agent world and its overall behaviour. This research not only leads to a better understanding of the above mentioned concepts at a computational level, but is also helping in the development of tools for building multi-agent systems, and their applications. The applications and experimental frameworks, which are defined within this research project, are devoted to illustrate the use and usefulness of organizational aspects in the domain of Multi-Agent Systems and Distributed Artificial Intelligence at the more general level, and provide at the same time the evaluation testbed and validation framework of the obtained theoretical results.
