Intruder structures and superdeformed bands in rare earth nuclei; experimental studies with pex/euroball detector arrays

Objective

High spin nuclear structure studies in A 170 rare earth region together with the experimental nuclear structure group at NBI. This group has studied systematically shape variations and alignment behaviour of different quasiparticle bands in this mass region. These studies will continue and new experiments will be done by using PEX and Euroball-III detector arrays. The PEX detector array will contain among other things 4 cluster and 2 clover detectors and it will be in operation in spring 1996 at NBI. The Euroball-III will be in operation in January 1997 at Legnaro, Italy.
An other shared interest is the continuation of the study of very neutron deficient nuclei around l00Sn. New experiments are planed to do with PEX system.
Working with the PEX and later with Euroball-III detector arrays would give a unique possibility to work with the most modern detector techniques and extend my earlier experience with first generation detector arrays.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
