Interactions between innovation and industry structure in the infrastructurenetworks

Objective

The innovation model in the network infrastructures exhibits properties which are not very well interpreted on the basis of the classical "turbulence-dominant design analysis. Instead of a single product life cycle, we are rather faced with the coexistence and competition of designs, local (national or other) trajectories of evolution and stability in spite of the constant heterogeneity. The goal of the proposed research is to provide a comprehensive treatment of the innovation patterns in the network infrastructures and also discuss the interactions between innovation and industry structure. The project will focus on the electronic communication networks, drawing however, analogies from the history of transportation and electricity networks. The emphasis on the training of the research applicant will be on the business strategies envisaging to appropriate the new technological opportunities in order to respond to the increasing needs of interoperability between heterogeneous networks.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
