Objective
In current environmental life-cycle assessment of products, little attention is paid to the site where an emission is released. It is expected that the relevance of the assessment process can be enhanced by the addition of a few general equivalence factors.
Each link in the cause effect chain can be characterised by a set of descriptors. As a first step, the main descriptors will be identified and their variance will be described. Next, for these descriptors the related discrete situations will be defined.
For these situations equivalence factors will be established that express the equivalent influence of a reference situation. These equivalent factors will be used to develop generic, feasible and easy to handle methods and procedures for site-dependent life-cycle impact assessment of human toxicity and acidification.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
