A perturbative study of bidimensional systems with singular interactions

Objective

Our research project will concentrate around the study of 2 + 1 dimensional models describing particles with intermediate or exotic statistics (anyons).
In particular, we will be interested in the bosonic based description of anyons models. In this context we will examine different approaches which have been developed in order to deal with perturbative calculations. We will consider the issue of wheter or not they are equivalent, how these methods are suited to perform higher order calculations and the way in which they could be extended to study extended anyons systems. The relation between anyon systems and two dimensional stochastic processes will also be explored. Finally. we will also study the way in which the last results concerning the non-perturbative behaviour of N=2 Supersymmetric theories (` la Seiberg-Witten) can be used here to obtain non-perturbative information of anyon systems.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
