Development of high durability and performance concrete by using pozzolans and optimum material synthesis

Objective

The objective of the proposed project is the investigation, the industrial production and the reliability control of an improved concrete type of high durability, as well as of high performance to all other conventional requirements (HDPC). This product arises by using artificial or natural pozzolans, simultaneously with rational design of relating proportions of its rest constituents (cement, aggregates, water, additives), as preliminary investigations by Papadakis et al., and DTI have shown. The most important aims of the project are: Theoretical and experimental investigation of the pozzolanic activity and its effects on the properties of fresh and hardened concrete, development of HDPC, formulation of use specifications, transfer to the construction reality and performance control.
The project will be carried out at the DTI- Division of Building Technology; the Denmark's largest organization on concrete technology research, from Dr. V. G. Papadakis, who has developed part of the-basic research, in cooperation with the well specialized on concrete optimization subjects, local research team.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
