Developments in finsler geometry dynamical and metric aspects

Objective

My research project will be carried out at the department of mathematic at Manchester University in the group of Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems, and is centered on the three following points:
- the problem of minimal topological and volume growth entropies for Finsler metrics on a Riemannian hyperbolic compact manifold M with both normalisations by the volume of M and by Liouville's volume of the sphere bundle;
- the problem of minimal topological entropy for Finsler metrics on a locally symmetric Riemannian compact manifold of the non compact type with rank>l;
- the study on a compact manifold, from the Finslerian point of view, o the negatively curved Riemannian metrics for which Bowen-Margulis and Liouville measures coincide.
These questions, which run straight on from my Ph. D. thesis, will brin to me a wider competence in my own area (Finsler geometry) together with a fresh knowledge in the field of dynamical systems.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
