Large fresnel number semiconductor lasers

Objective

Research objectives and content
The applicant, Dr Huyet wishes to combine the valuable knowledge of large aperture lasers, he gained under Tredicce, with the impressive experience of Professor McInerney in broad area semiconductor lasers. This project is both motivated by technological applications and scientific understanding of large Fresnel number semiconductor lasers. The two specific area considered, wide stripe semiconductor lasers and vertical cavity semiconductor lasers optically pumped, will couple extremely well with the current projects under thee direction of Professor McInerney. The experiment will be carried with Dr Andrew Kent, another TMR fellowship working on the theory of large aperture semiconductor lasers, in order to understand the complex behavior of these lasers and also in order to obtain a stable high output power

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
