Synthesis of organic compounds using palladium complexes

Objective

Research objectives and content
Task 1: preparation of optically active primary aryl ortho-palladated amines and subsequent coupling with symmetrical and asymmetrical alkynes, CO and isocyanides. The biological activity of the new ortho-palladated amines obtained should be tested in collaboration with Derivados Quimicos S.A.
Task 2: the scope and limitation of the palladium-catalysed cross-coupling reaction of organomercury compounds with a large variety of organic halides and acetates should be investigated.
Task 3: synthesis of highly functionalized binaphtalenes and other industrial interesting compounds using the methodologies developed in tasks I and 2.
Training content (objective, benefit and expected impact)
It is expected by the applicant to acquire knowledge in techniques and topics of organometallic chemistry to which she has not been exposed yet and in which the host institution has demonstrated big experience. It is expected the development of new selective methods for the synthesis of highly functionalized compounds using organometallic complexes and the preparation of compounds with potential biological interest. Links with industry / industrial relevance (22)
Derivados Quimicos S.A. industry with which the host institution maintained collaboration since 1991, has already shown interest in this project.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
