Modeling dna statistical and dynamical properties

Objective

Research objectives and content
The available amount of sequences J DNA allows to detect statistical properties that can be interpreted as constraints due to gene functioning anti regulation. Different models for pr`-.u-iotic and eukariotie DNA have been proposed. In parlicular, our attempts to understancd DNA heyontl[?] the nucleotide correlation along the chain made it possible for us to establish a connection between nucleotide statistics and the geomeirieal l'olcding ot' the DNA molecule in eukariotic cells. Time-series analyses will he either inverted or optimised and used, together with those in literature, to extract such information. Together with the biological information available in literature (and also from a close cooperation with with professional biologists), this will allow us to refine our statistics with cukariolie and prokariotie DNA sequences and, compare them with complete genomes available. Exeitation transport properties ol DNA will be studied, together with the influence of nucleotide statistics and correlations on the classical or quantum models
Training content
Engineering a group with a great experience and moocis, (-)uanmu' i-.-isp`'it in correlated media, anti solutions will enhance the applicant's expertise in these fields, crucial for the project objectives Links with industry / industrial relevance (22)
Providing instruments to control better the integration of alien subtences with [?]hullcrCd genotypes, modified through recombinant DNA techniques.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
