Objective
Research objectives and content
The objective of the project include: Detailed investigations of nuclei with equal proton and neutron numbers in the mass region close to 60-80. I started this work during my INFN fellowship at LNL, participating in the setup and completion of in-beam experiments and beginning the data analysis. The work to be perforrned during the apply fellowship will be: Completion of the data analysis of performed and scheduled in-beam experiments with the Euroball spectrometer; Setup, completion and data analysis of beta-decay experiments to be perforrned at GSI with a Total Absorption Spectrometer, in order to get complementary information on proton-neutron correlations. Development of an improved version of the ISIS Si-ball, based on a new mechanical design and on new segmented detectors. The new detector, called EUCLIDE, will be used in combination with arrays of gamma detectors to enhance their channel selectivity. Tests of prototypes should start at the beginning of 1998.
Training content (objective, bcnefit and expccted impact)
The aim of the project is to perform basic research in proton-rich medium-mass exotic nuclei. Secondary goal is the production of a new ancillary detector to make this kind of studies feasible in a short measurement time.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
