Objective
Research objectives and content The final development of EUCLIDE the new high efficiency implanted-Si charged particle detector to be used as trigger or ancillary detector in EUROBALL III. The work to be performed is: - Test of the segmented DeltaE -E prototypes and the associated electronics. - Definitive design and production of the full array The use of EUCLIDE in combination with EUROBALL III in order to investigate N equal Z nuclei in the mass region close to 70. I will participate in all the phases of the experiments already approved The importance of the beta-decay studies in the determination of the p-n correlation (T equal 0 pairing) makes the experience of the host group ideal to collaborate in the developement of new techniques to be used at GSI and GANIL. The acquired skills will be also used to collaborate in the design of a PET device to be developed at Valencia. The goal is to improve imaging quality through the enhanced energy resolution and efficiency of the new detector materials. Training content (objective, benefit and expected impact) The aim of the project is to produce high efficiency ancillary detectors in order to reduce the required measurement time and reach exotic channels. The development of new detectors for radiation measurement and their possible use in tomography.
