Cad and verification of novel mm-wave and submm-wave circuits

Objective

The training aspect of the network consists in the agreement of all partners to involve particular young post-doctoral researchers into their the cm-wave range to the mm- and submm-wave range. The work will focus on teams, which provides a wide distribution of the highly-sophisticated the development of convenient software tools, which take into account the special effects that occur at those higher frequencies: interaction among techniques of modern electronic circuits in the new frequency ranges. circuit elements, radiation, package effects.
This requires the novel implementation of nonlinear elements such as diodes and transistors into field theoretical approaches, which are up to now mainly restricted to the analysis of passive components. The consortium of partners, who are leading experts of different theoretical approaches enables both a time-efficient development and comparison of the different techniques. This will lead at the end to the most convenient techniques for the new frequency range.
Verification of the different techniques will be performed on key elements of new sensoring systems in the mm wave and submm wave range. For fabrication and experimental work partners are involved who are dealing with the development of the respective key elements and systems.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
