A research network for spatiotemporal database systems

Objective

We propose to create the research network CHOROCHRONOS to study the design, implementation and application of DBMS for spatiotemporal information. European researchers. CHOROCHRONOS will enable talented young researchers (especially recent Ph.D.'s) to remain in Europe and contribute to the Spatiotemporal information is the temporal and spatial information associated with objects in the world. Its management is of interest to a research area of spatiotemporal databases. The total contribution of our large variety of applications: GIS, remote sensing, environmental network to training and mobility of researchers is 350 man months. information systems, CAD/CAM, and others. We believe that these applications are important, and spatiotemporal database management systems (STDBMS) can become the enabling technology for them.
The participants of the proposed network are established researchers in temporal and spatial database systems. Most of them have so far been working exclusively on temporal or spatial databases, and now would like to unite their expertise for the creation of a spatiotemporal database infrastructure.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
