Quantum STRUCTURES

Objective

The proposed project is interdisciplinary in that it brings together network proposal is to extend the study of structured, ordered systems from world-leading scientists working in two distinct but related areas. It provides the opportunity for young researchers to extend the scope of their the classical into the quantum regime. In particular we emphasise the interests. This, together with the existing collaborative links between the nonclassical spatio-temporal properties of the light which can be produced groups, should ensure a very stimulating environment for research in nonlinear optical devices and the ordered patternsformed from ions or activities.
atoms manipulated by electromagnetic fields. The partners in the network have the required complementary skills to carry out detailed experimental and theoretical studies of the specifically quantum features associated with the formation of the structures and of the correlations associated with them. We aim to produce quantum optical patterns and regular arrays of trapped ions and atoms and to develop mathematical models and computer simulations of them. It is a strength of this network that we will enjoy close collaboration between experimental and theoretical groups.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
