AGENTISME assesses, integrates and demonstrates technology for Electronic Commerce related to GEN - the Global Engineering Network. Thus the project focuses on SMEs of the engineering branches such as mechanical engineering and electronics. AGENTISME is not developing new technologies, it is rather assessing existing solutions and making them available for SMEs. The project intends to narrow the gap between fast moving IT development and the actual state of the art in engineering companies. AGENTISME is involving all necessary actors - end users, suppliers, technology and service providers. The scope of the pilot activity covers business-to-business transactions and topics such as marketing and directories and interactive co-operative work, known as teleworking. The overall project cycle of AGENTISME is designed to verify all useful instruments for Electronic Commerce and to evaluate technologies developed in the GEN context. The project is user-driven and the best practice approach of AGENTISME will lead to several scenarios. Klotz GmbH is a SME in mechanical engineering and - as a project partner - showcase for AGENTISME. The project aims to ease the steps of media breaks which automatically occur along the value chain. Obvious benefits for the SMEs are substantial time and cost savings. Project URL: http://www.agentisme.com
