Starting June 1998, MENON provides an integrated set of services to the European multimedia industry and the educational communities to efficiently incorporate the use of multimedia materials in the learning process.
MENON provides an integrated set of services which include:
a) a European paedagogical testbed (comprising a teacher teams network in European countries) to test prototypes and multimedia products at initial stages, provide consultancy to producers and publishers, and test products in real school environments,
- an omnibus of market research to continuously generate data from teachers and schools,
- production (on-demand) of 'good practice' guides to accompany multimedia titles,
- materials and courses to support IT teacher training,
- testing multimedia titles for conformance to curricula (and in classrooms) of countries other than their own,
- 'guidance' to using educational multimedia products,
- an award for best educational software and best 'how to use software in real-life education',
- ratings of educational multimedia products.
