Objective
The objective of GCO-Support is to establish and operate during two years the dissemination actions needed for ensuring a proper acceptance of the CAPE-OPEN standard among users, providers and researchers. The goal of CAPE-OPEN and of Global CAPE-OPEN projects, both supported within the EC Brite-EuRam, are to define open interface standards for Computer-Aided Process Engineering software, enabling interoperability between components from heterogeneous sources. This will enable process industries to develop better and more accurate models for design and operation of their processes. The GCO-Support actions are: dissemination events; a newsletter; a web site; a users network. These actions target SMEs, large Companies and educational institutions. The result of GCO-Support will be a wider adoption of the Standards, triggering development of new CO-compliant components and thus providing additional benefits for users and providers of CAPE models.
