European process effectiveness, efficacy and efficiency improvement tools dedicated to smes

Objective

The proposed Accompanying Measure aims at preparing a large scale research and deployement project for FP6, which will address process improvement issues in three key sectors (car, aeroplane and agrofood). Based on a close involvement of large industrial groups and their SME technology providers, an expert panel made of industrial representatives will validate a European training cursus of process improvement managers, an accreditation system for the training organisations, a ERP-like software tool to Support improvement projects and a data base organisations for practice sharing by industrial enterprises. A field validation of the project will follow with a network of 150 industrial companies built in a previous work with the EC (contract G1MA-CT200l-00007). Road maps for training and technology deployment aiming at better process stability will be defined as well as the funding needs of the whole proqramme, possibly as an Integrated Project.
