Objective
The idea of the proposal is to solve problems related to use of inefficient energy and chemical consuming separation technologies in chemical industry. The technological objective is to develop inorganic microporous membranes and modules for pervaporation and vapour permeation, which will result in a broad application range of these significantly more efficient separation technologies. This objective will be achieved by developing stable microporous inorganic membranes on different types of membrane support, which can be assembled in membrane modules capable of operating with performance specified by chemical industry. Targeted goals for the developed membranes and modules are: Membrane water flux: 7 kg/(m2/bar/ h), selectivity = 1000 (azeotropic ethanol/water mixtures at 100c, ph stzability range 2-12, temperature stability up to 300°C, pressure 30 bar, membrane price: <1500 EUR/m2, and module size: 10-50 m2. An exploitation plan will be made.
