Vendor integrated decentralized optimization of production facilities

Objective

The trend with designing production facilities is going to virtual factories where planning and programming of sub-systems are done in a virtual world. Here is the goal to react dynamically on changes (product change, errors, optimisation) in the virtual world. For this is a consistent and complete model of the production facility needed. Today models from subsystems (sub-models) are designed by various simulation tools. No methods for integration of the sub-models to a complete model of the production facility exist. The result of this project will be an infrastructure for vendor integrated decentralised modelling which consists of a model management combining the distributed models of the subsystems to a complete model and a communication platform enabling co-operative work between the sub-suppliers and the manufacturer or turn key suppliers for the secure transmission of models (geometric models, process models), program code, etc.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
