ROAD PAVEMENT REHABILITATION TECHNIQUES USING ENHANCED ASPHALT MIXTURES

Objective

This project aims to improving the materials, design and construction techniques for rehabilitation of road pavement using recycled asphalt mixtures with special reference to the following three aspects : - New hot and cold recycled asphalt mixtures with enhanced hydrocarbonated binders, emulsions and bitumens. - Innovative machinery and new milling, layout and compaction procedures. - New computer-based methodology for design and life cycle assessment of the rehabilitated pavement using new asphalt mixtures. Special attention is put in the integrated approach aiming for highest the quality of the new asphalt mixtures, the optimal milling and layout processes, the quality and longer life of the rehabilitated pavement and the overall efficiency of the rehabilitation process.
