Objective
Facing problem of defective cellulosic fibres increasing production costs of EU cotton & flax spinning companies, project aims through advanced clean biotechnological process to improve this raw material and to make them available at cheaper price for textile industrials. It will enhance competitiveness of EU spinning mills & also develop new markets for EU biotechnology companies. Biological tools & way of application at low moisture content will be studied at lab & pilot scale to treat causes of stickiness & immaturity of cotton & of under retting of flax. Results will be validate thanks to industrial trials. Engineering of industrial treatment line will be designed to allow short term implementation. Methods should be transferred to cellulosic material in other industrial sectors.
