Objective
The proposed programme will develop technologies which demonstrate microreactor implementation for 'high speed chemistry'. This dramatically improves the effectiveness of chemical syntheses. The programme will design, fabricate and demonstrate High Throughput Experimentation (HTE) systems. The devices will rapidly optimise catalysts and new chemical syntheses in three selected real world applications: The formation of multiple stock chemicals from methane, synthesis of optimised new functional chemicals for oil field operations and asymmetric chiral synthesis of pharmaceutical precursors. The project will also explore via a number of risk reduction projects, the means by which these devices can be used to rapidly scale up synthesis through parallel scale out of novel microreactor-based plant.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
