Objective
The IBIS project aims to develop the required technology for a new generation of co-efficient, multi-functional machinery for outdoor applications. This will be achieved by developing concepts for flexible and interchangeable boom structures, innovative, energy efficient and intelligent actuator technologies, advanced automatic motion control strategies for the machine operation and technologies required for onboard diagnostic and area monitoring systems. Due to reduced fuel consumption of new hydraulic system solutions this contributes to a significant reduction of the exploitation of primary energy resources. By developing onboard condition and area monitoring in combination with sophisticated automatic motion control of the machine a highly improved operability, interchangeability and worker's safety will be achieved. The developed technologies will be implemented into three technology platforms for testing and evaluation.
