Objective
The present project concerns compensation of the shape and size of tools for 3D sheet metal forming processes considering the residual stresses and spring back of the material after forming as well as after trimming, punching and parting of the draw pieces. Tool compensation method using the FEM simulation incorporating into professional programmes will make it possible to obtain products with high accuracy, which is essential in assembling of complex products like car body. The benefit of practical application of the tool shape compensations method is significant. The important problem of the dimensional quality of draw pieces will be solved, which could be done so far only by expensive experiments in technical scale. Wide known scientists and design engineers from universities, research institute and industry create the consortium. The elaborated system for net shape forming of sheet metal products will bring economical and technical advantages.
