Phased array ultrasonic transducers for inspection of turbing

Objective

The Pharus project aims at developing a new set of ultrasonic transducers (1000 transducers in total) and associated electronics in a miniaturised package capable of operating in most oil wells. This new device with improved capabilities and reliability compared with state of the art technologies will be able to perform accurate inspection of tubing and piping in oilfield applications in harsh environment (175 deg. Celsius, 20 000 psi). A demonstrator will be produced and fully validated at laboratory level and in field. The technology developed will be compatible with industrial fabrication process for further production in volume.
