A thematic network for quality and trust in the industrial application of computation fluid dynamics

Objective

CDF is potentially one of the most powerful generic technologies to evolve from academic research to widespread industrial application. Some regard CFD as an emerging technology whereas others view it as approaching maturity. However all will agree that it proves a notoriously difficult technology to apply successfully in the industrial environment. This is largely due to the fact that industrial CFD is an uncertain discipline and, as such, it is inevitably a knowledge based activity. The thematic network sets out to assemble, structure and collate existing knowledge and to make it available in the form of a knowledge base incorporating best practice guidelines, applications procedures and an example database. It will ultimately unlock CFD as a front line design and analysis tool. It will also reveal gaps in existing knowledge and allow future funds to be targeted at high value research projects designed to fill these gaps.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
