Objective
The DEMON Proposal is submitted by a network of 14 organisations from 8 European countries to address the identified need "to strengthen the innovative capacity of the European industrial system by fostering the creation of business and services built on emerging technologies and new market opportunities".
The key elements of the proposal are:
(1) To link thematic networks and technology transfer organisations into a Demonstration Network (DN) to enhance the potential for "translating scientific knowledge into innovation, and the diffusion of technologies developed under RTD projects" as envisaged in the Competitive and Sustainable Growth Programme.
(2) To facilitate wider dissemination of RTD results to industry in specific sectors and areas of knowledge.
(3) To stimulate the use of technologies and methodologies developed in RTD projects through case studies demonstrating the feasibility of the technologies and best practice in their use.
