An engineering workbench for strengthening small and medium enterprises prototyping facilities based on intra-net communication and process navigation and guidance system

Objective

European SME's play a major role in supporting automotive, aircraft and investive goods industries by realisation of prototypes like functional or design models. They provide qualified staff, state-of-the art machinery and own highest flexibility in serving customer demands. The main technological and organisational gap is the need for permanent accumulation and evaluation of design and production know-how keeping in parallel order variations of manufacturing and material specifications and tolerances. This shortcomings will be overcome by development, and integration of an engineering workbench consisting of an Intra-Net database manager, combined with a process navigation and guidance system for prototype manufacturing. The project results will be approved by selected prototyping manufacturers (casting, joining and assembly). A multilingual module will enhance integration and strengthen the competitiveness of the European SME's active in this sector.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
