Objective
The proposal addresses the problems associated with waste gererated in several industrial sectors. The aim is to add value to waste and produce products aimed at furniture, joinery and associated sectors.
The main objectives are:
- develop an economic and practical process for re-using waste materials to make value added wood-like components;
- develop a suitable surface finishing technique to ensure customer acceptance and effective durability;
- to re-use 60% of residues from leather, wood and plastics industries;
- to reduce dependency on landfill and incineration as a means of residue disposal.
