Improvement of working conditions for heavy nutsetting systems

Objective

Nut setting systems are often used in automotive and machinery industry. Systems for tighten M 16 - M 30 screws are heavy, difficult to operate and have a high risk of injuries. The main RTD goals can be described as followed:
1. Installation of an ergonomic workplace with the benefits of reduced illness of the operator and accident rate.
2. A process controlled screwing system with secure screw connections. The result of a controlled screwing is the application of smaller screws with a lower tightening torque, reduced wall thickness of the screw connections and consequently a lighter design of machinery parts.3. Low weight design for the nut setting system using lighter or higher strength materials for the torque transmission and the body of the system.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
