Implementation of a new marking out system for buried pipes based on the detection of acoustically stimulated piezoelectric markers (PEM)

CORDIS provides links to public deliverables and publications of HORIZON projects.

Links to deliverables and publications from FP7 projects, as well as links to some specific result types such as dataset and software, are dynamically retrieved from OpenAIRE .

Deliverables

All the work done in this PEM project proved that using a piezo component as an energy source was possible for markers application, depending where it was used. Our goal since the beginning of the PEM project had been buried conduits (gas, water, electric, and telecommunication). We understand clearly that PEM technology is not possible to be used in that way, because all the pipes are under roads, so with bitumen coating. This market is still open for a new technology and even if great companies such as 3 M or Plimouth have solutions, we expect to explore other way: magnetostrictive or magnetic. The PEM technology is not dead and we will contact along with our European partners, companies who can help us to disseminate this new technology and maybe use it in another way.
