Objective
The main objective of this project is to develop the 3DP process into a reproducible industrial manufacturing technique providing consistent decorated parts. To this end, a prototype 3DP machine will be built/modified (including the software) and process parameters for making products using conventional materials will be determined. Although 3DP techniques have been shown to be feasible for all kind of materials (seewww.MIT.edu) the further development to a technique with consistent materials with a high accuracy, requires solving a number of technical issue including the handling of powders, control of binder composition, warp age of parts, optimisation of material microstructure and product properties. In addition, the controlling software and data acquisition of coloured and graded materials need to be further developed. The result of this project will provide the partners with a technology which represents a major step forward in rapid manufacturing and product design for custom product with customer specified materials.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
