Objective
Projects actual outcome. The main technical achievements are the following:
1. THERMO-MECHANICAL PROCEDURE: Study of the procedure describing the better temperature and heating regimes, intensity of the multidirectional stretching forces, treatment duration and drying cycles to increase the area yield of bovine and woollen and non-woollen sheepskin leather.
2. STRETCHER PROTOTYPE: Design and construction of a prototype of the equipment for application of the thermal treatments allowing multidirectional stretching and heating capable of working in a water bath. It includes the software and graphical user interface for the stretcher control and analysis of results.
3. INDUSTRIAL PROTOTYPE: Development of a prototype for the treatment of hides according to the procedure described in the Result 1, at industrial scale.
4. RHEOLOGICAL MODEL: Rheological Model providing a theoretical basis for the new process which defines the limits within which the process can be successful for a given leather and which is based on the viscoelasticity-temperature profile of a leather.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
