Water filled explosives hoses generating water mist for dust abatement during explosive demolition of buildings

Resultado final

The explosive hose system provides a new method for binding dust particles which is more efficient and uses less water than conventional means. Water filled hoses with inserted blasting cords are laid out around the building and are detonated with a short time lag after the blasting of the building. The water accelerated through the explosion is spread out in form of small water droplets which retain the fine and very fine dust particles generated by the demolition. Prototypes of the explosive hoses have been validated in a wide range of real size field tests. A whole set of commercial and technical documentation including operating instructions is available.
The new cationic surfactant increases the dust binding capability of water droplets. It is environmentally friendly according to eco-toxigological tests conducted at the German "Hygiene-Institut". Water without any support from a dust binding agent has a too poor wetting ability to be used neat. Thus, the dust reducing fluid is composed from water and a surfactant. The new cationic surfactant can be used at low dosage in water (1:4000).
