Operational Benefit Evaluation by Testing an A-SMGCS

Objective

In order to support the early A-SMGCS implementation, BETA is dedicated to performing the next development step by evaluating the quantitative benefits for the ATC provider, the airlines and the airports as well as for the pilots and controllers. At 2 mid size airports (+a supporting airport) field trials are planned under real operational conditions taking into account the normal traffic plus additional test traffic (2 test aircraft, test vans).

The validation of new procedure require special tests (e.g. rule violations which are only possible with test traffic together with the scheduled traffic at non-congested airports. Expected results are: an operational concept for the use of A-SMGCS, validated inputs to standardisation groups (e.g. AOPG/PT2), validated efficiency and safety benefits data, demonstration of the environmental impact reduction, trained controllers / pilots.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
