Objective
This proposal is aimed at disseminating, through a 2-day congress and other measures, the results of two RTD projects in hybrid propulsion technology whose objective is to reduce fuel consumption and emissions in urban passenger transit vehicles. The technical objective of both these RTD projects is to maximise brake energy recovery and reduce the size and optimise the operation of the prime mover by use of an energy storage facility. It is aimed to meet EURO V and EEV emission standards. The congress is aimed at disseminating and promoting the technology to a wide European audience of transport planners, operators and vehicle builders, and also to other potential end users such as crane and delivery vehicle manufacturers. It will include demonstrations, workshops and an exhibition.
