Application of high density p/m gears for automotive gearboxes by densification of the surface layer (HIGH DENS)

Objective

In order to improve its competitiveness, especially in relation to the USA and the FAR EAST, and to maintain its technological lead, the European car and gear industry is compelled to increase productivity of its manufacturing processes and to decrease the maintenance costs of the products still further. The project is densification of P/M gears by transverse rolling and the application of highly loaded P/M gears in automotive gearboxes. For this, material and technology development will be done. The investigations on gears include the tool and process design and the tool production for the compaction and sintering as well as for the densification process of the compacted gears by rolling. The result of the project will be technological material and process conditions for the densification of P/M gears and roll stressed components in mass production.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
