Objective
The outcome of this RTD-project is a novel system for monitoring the condition of railway ballast. The system comprises of new ballast analysis unit and analysis software and ground radar integrated with a track vehicle. The radiometric measurement will be based on RaBast method that SME Co-ordinator (Laatuinsinöörit Oy) has demonstrated to have a great potential in improving current methods of analysing the condition of railway ballast.
