Objective
The objective of this proposed project is therefore the development of a new technically and economically J competitive ballast water treatment system (TREBAWA) based on a spin particle collector with an optional integrated UV radiator. The main objectives of this project are:- Development of a spin particle collector for ships which will lead to a- reduction of the sediment load in the ballast water tanks by at least 90% - reduction of ballast tank cleaning costs of at least 75%, - reduction of ballast sludge generated by at least 90% and - reduction of marine organism/species transfer through ballast water by at least 95%
