Objective
Aerospace SMEs having a significant involvement in the supply chain represent in Europe some 7000 Companies. Aerospace SMEs, in the shadow of large industrialists, are willing to have access to European funded research but due to a lack of training mechanisms they face significant difficulties. Accompanying measures in the present Growth KA 4 have created a break, not yet a break through, but things are improving. SMEs awareness has considerably increase, expressed needs from SMEs are real, and nevertheless a large amount of work remains to be accomplished at the level of helping SMEs in proposal preparations. SCRATCH Phase 3 will try to improve the present situation and to implement SMEs specifically tailored support actions at the level of RTD (Research and Technical Development) proposals preparation. Nine Partners from F, NL, I, B, E, Il, UK, D, El having expertise in European research and SMEs in the field of aerospace bring their knowledge and capabilities in SCRATCH Phase 3. The SCRATCH Phase 3 final goal is to service and submit three SMEs RTD proposals in the field of Aerospace each SCRATCH Phase 3 Partner, within two years in FP6 (total 24 proposals). SCRATCH Phase 3 is the proposed follow on phase of Scratch I and II projects.
